Guide: Chisel For Bedrock

Updated: Jul 31, 2022

Overview

Chisel for Bedrock is an add-on that is derived from the original Java edition mod Chisel. This add on currently adds in over 2,000 new decorative blocks to build with and decorate your world. Most blocks are new decorative versions of existing Minecraft blocks but this addon also introduces new blocks as well. Some new naturally generating blocks include basalt, limestone, and marble while some other new blocks are obtainable through crafting and these include blocks factory, laboratory, lavastone, and paper. You can learn more about this add-on visiting the Chisel for Bedrock add-on page by clicking the button below.

Crafting

Crafting Chisel blocks is simple all you'll need is a block of your choice and a stonecutter! Place the stonecutter and put the block you want to craft in the stonecutters menu and if it's a supported block many new blocks will pop up for you to craft.

Don't worry about losing the blocks you put in because you are able to uncraft them by just putting the Chisel version of the block back into the crafting table.

There are a few new craftable blocks added with Chisel for Bedrock as well such as Factory, Laboratory, lavastone, and Paper blocks. These first need to be crafted in a crafting table to obtain the base version of the block then they can be used in the stonecutter to obtain more decorative version of themselves just like every other block. Recipes are below but they are also viewable in the in game recipe book.

Variant Blocks

Many blocks have what is called variant blocks. Variant blocks are a set of blocks, intersection, trim, and sometimes inner, that when built together can create seamless connected texture looks. You can tell if a block has variants if it has a light blue name.

Once you have a block with a light blue name you can simply put it back into the stonecutter to craft it's corresponding variants.

Variant blocks can be used to further decorate and define your builds with connected texture looks. Not all blocks have variants so be sure to keep an eye out for that light blue name to figure out which ones do.
