Guide: Chunk Loaders

Updated: Jul 31, 2022

Overview

It can be a pain going out to explore your world only to come back and see your crops and farms have stopped running while you were away. With Chunk Loaders you will be able to explore your world while keeping your farms running. The Chunk Loaders use Minecraft's ticking areas to keep parts of your world continuously running even when you are out of range allowing things like crops and Redstone to keep going. This will allow automated farms to keep gathering resources while you are out adventuring. Note this doesn't allow mobs to keep spawning in the area, for that a player needs to be around. Crafting

Crafting is done in the crafting table requiring some items you'll need to visit the nether to obtain. You can refer to images below or find the recipes in the recipe book in game.

A diamond is another resource that is required in order to activate the chunk loader. More about this detailed below in the How to.

How to use

After you've crafted your chunk loader color of choice to activate it you'll need to place it in the world and right click it (or whatever the appropriate button for your platform is) with a diamond. This will display a message bottom middle of screen saying "Ticking area 'color' on" and a floating diamond appears on the chunk loader to show it is on.

You can deactivate the chunk loaders by crouching and right clicking the block. You will get a message at the bottom middle of the screen saying "Ticking area 'color' off" and the floating diamond will rest on the table to show it is off.

You can toggle between on and off by crouch clicking the block. Please note only 1 of each color can be in any dimension at a time so if you are playing multiplayer divide up the colors among the players so you don't overwrite each other.

Note if you break the block you do not get the diamond back so be sure you place them where you want them
